History of Metzler
Metzler traces its origins to a trading company established by Benjamin Metzler in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, more than 330 years ago. Since then, Metzler has been dedicated to providing customised financial services - as a merchant bank, a partner in securities transactions, an asset manager for affluent private clients and a corporate finance consultant.As long ago as 1742 a member of the Metzler family had a seat on the Stock Exchange Board in Frankfurt. Other positions held by the family have included a seat in the Prussian parliament and the office of City Mayor. These are milestones in the history of the family for whom commitment to the common good has been a matter of honor for generations, a tradition still in evidence today in its role in foundations and as a patron of the arts in Frankfurt.
