Metzler opens representative office in Beijing
At the beginning of January 2009, the Chinese banking supervisory authorities CBRC granted the in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, based Metzler Bank permission to open a representative office in Beijing. Metzler will be represented locally by a head representative and two other staff members.The opening of the representative office in Beijing is a further element of the bank’s Asian strategy. Metzler has already been operating a representative office in Tokyo since 2001 in the form of a subsidiary, offering products and services primarily to institutional Japanese clients in asset management.
For some years now, Metzler has built up competence in China via the Hong Kong bridgehead and a cooperation partner with experience in Chinese business. By establishing a representative office of its own in Beijing, Metzler now aims to become directly active in the world’s most strongly growing economy.
