Metzler Equities in third place
Handelsblatt and the U.S. research firm Starmine rank the best investment firms and analysts for German equitiesIn an extremely difficult market environment, Metzler Equities with a total of eight distinctions was in third place in the overall rankings for the 2009 analysts award. With this, Metzler has placed in the top five for three years in a row in the analyst ratings of Handelsblatt and Starmine.
Jochen Schmitt, sector analyst for the real estate, insurance and financial services sectors gained several awards – both for his share recommendations and for the accuracy of his earnings estimates. Jürgen Pieper was likewise distinguished for his good earnings estimates in the automobile sector.
Out of a total of 148 investment firms surveyed, Metzler placed in one of the top tiers. Metzler analysts competed against 837 experts for share recommendations and 1,369 experts for earnings estimates.
The rankings are based on an analysis carried out by the U.S. research firm Star-Mine, a subsidiary of Thomson Reuters, for Handelsblatt newspaper.
