Multi-Manager Funds and Hedge Funds

Multi-manager funds offer optimal diversification opportunities regarding investment classes, styles and managers. They are therefore suitable for establishing or rounding off strategic asset allocations. Coupled with Metzler's expertise in strategic and tactical asset allocation, these products can be used in a variety of ways: in the special funds segment, to underlie commitments arising from company pension schemes or in sophisticated retail products.

For marketing multi-manager products, Metzler works together with the Russell Investment Group and offers institutional investors, exclusively in Germany, alternative investment products like hedge funds or traditional asset-class funds (UCIT funds). In addition, we also sell the Russell multi-manager funds to independent financial advisors (IFAs) through the Metzler Fund Xchange platform.

Russell is the world market leader in the area of multi-manager products. The first funds were launched on the US market in 1980. Since 1994, European investors have had access to funds set up in Dublin. These funds offer investors a strategic global spread of investments including equities, bonds and alternative investment classes. Russell has total assets under management of well over USD 100 bn (as of December 2004).
