Es kommt wieder Gas durch die Pipeline Nord Stream 1. Für Edgar Walk, Chefvolkswirt Metzler Asset Management, ist das eine gute Nachricht, mit der er nicht gerechnet habe. Die Energiewende muss jetzt vorangetrieben werden. Doch es gibt noch mehr Krisen: In Italien tritt Mario Draghi zurück, wird das noch zu einem echten Problem? Und kann die EZB vor diesem Hintergrund bei Ihrem Kurs der Wende in der Geldpolitik bleiben? "Wir haben eine Energiekrise, eine Inflationskrise und stehen am Rande einer Staatsschuldenkrise. Es steht nicht gut um Europa". Aber: "Die EZB wird die Zinsen anheben. Das ist die gute Nachricht. Aber die EZB muss mehr machen", so Walk. Edgar Walk joined Metzler in 2000. As Chief Economist in the asset management division, he is responsible for formulating our global economic outlook. Due to his close cooperation with the portfolio management, he focuses on capital market themes as well as on global economic analyses. Mr. Walk holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tübingen in Germany and spent a semester at the University of Doshisha in Kyoto, Japan. In addition, he completed the program “Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research“ at the Institute of World Economy in Kiel, Germany.
