At the European Pensions Awards in London, Metzler Capital Markets was named Currency Manager of the Year 2020 for its successful foreign exchange strategy.
"The importance of managing foreign currencies has increased greatly, especially since global interest rates are low. This year, as the US dollar and many emerging market currencies dropped significantly, it became clear how imperative it is to have a good risk manager," says Özgür Atasever, Head of Currency Management at Metzler Capital Markets.
These awards are bestowed upon investment firms, consultants and service providers in Europe who have set the benchmark in working with European pension funds in an increasingly challenging market climate. The jury is composed of independent experts from industry associations and pension funds as well as consultants.
