Michael Klaus appointed Chairman of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange

The members of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange appointed Michael Klaus as their new Chairman in a constitutive session on January 13, 2020. Mr. Klaus, Partner at B. Metzler seel. Sohn & Co. Holding AG, will replace Michael Rüdiger who has resigned from the Exchange Council. Dr. Matthias Zieschang, Member of the Executive Board at Fraport AG, will remain in his post as Deputy Chairman. “With Michael Klaus, a proven capital market expert with decades of experience in the financial sector will take the reigns at the head of the Exchange Council,” says Hauke Stars, Executive Board Member of Deutsche Börse and Chairman of the Board at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is an important control and supervisory body of the stock exchange and has 18 members that serve a three-year term. The Council’s primary duties include appointing and monitoring the exchange management as well as issuing the exchange regulations, the fee scale and the terms and conditions for exchange transactions.
