Which data do we use for which purposes and on what legal basis?

The following data is processed by us based on a weighing of interests pursuant to Article 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. f of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

The IP address of your computer is used to display web pages on your screen. Without it, communication between the website server and the requesting computer would not be possible and the request would not be processed. IP addresses used for this purpose are only used for the duration of the website visit and are not stored.

The following data is stored in a log file each time one of our web pages is accessed:

  • Web page accessed/name of the file retrieved
  • Date and time of request for access/retrieval
  • Notification whether the request for access/retrieval was successful
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Current IP address of your computer and the type of browser used

This data is required to ensure IT security and prevent cyber attacks. In order to track possible attacks, this data is stored for a certain period of time and deleted at regular intervals.

For certain website services, we are legally obligated to collect information on country of origin and on any so-called “qualified investor”. This data processing takes place pursuant to Article 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. c of the GDPR. Data is deleted without your consent when the session ends. If you have consented to your settings being stored, this data will be deleted after 30 days.

If you have given us your consent to process your personal data for specific purposes, the lawfulness of such processing is based on your consent and pursuant to Article 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. a of the GDPR. Any consent is voluntary and can be revoked for future dealings at any time (see also "What are my privacy rights?")

If you agree to the use of statistical cookies, we collect the following information using the web analysis software Matomo:

  • Current IP address of your computer
  • User data
  • Surfing behaviour

We use this data to analyse the usage behaviour on our website. The analysis serves the purpose of optimising our website and measuring statistical visitor numbers. IP addresses are shortened in such a way that it is not possible to identify a specific person. This data is also regularly deleted.

For presenting video content, we use the SaaS platform 3Q SDN. The operating company of 3Q SDN is 3Q GmbH, located at Kurfürstendamm 102, 10711 Berlin, Germany. When you use the audiovisual content we offer, the following data is transmitted to 3Q:

  • IP address
  • Time of access
  • URL
  • User agent
  • Data that is pertinent for statistical compilation.

3Q's current data protection policy can be found at https://www.3qsdn.com/de/datenschutz_und_richtlinien

Some services collect personal data such as your email address, and in some cases, you will be required to enter login data. This data is collected by means of entries you make on a website form.

We use the data you give us, e.g. your email address via the contact form, strictly in correspondence with you and solely for the purpose intended when you provided the data to us. Some emails received via our website are forwarded to a company in the Metzler Group for direct processing. If you object to this, please inform us of this in your email.

Who receives my data?

Service providers and agents employed by us may receive data if necessary for the provision of services such as IT services, advisory services and consulting.

Further data recipients are those approved by you for data transmission.

You will find links to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Xing, LinkedIn and kununu (“social media”) on our website. We do not enable these sites’ social plugins so no personal data is transmitted to them when you visit our website. You can access these sites by clicking on one of the social media symbols at the bottom of our website or on a link to a social media site. Data is then collected, processed and used on these sites. We have no control over the data these sites collect and how they process or use it. To find out the purpose and extent of data collection and the further processing and use of the data, please see the privacy notices on the relevant sites.

What are my privacy rights?

Every data subject has the right to obtain information pursuant to Article 15 of the GDPR, the right of data correction pursuant to Article 16 of the GDPR, the right of data deletion pursuant to Article 17 of the GDPR, the right to restrict data processing pursuant to Article 18 of the GDPR, the right to object pursuant to Article 21 of the GDPR and the right to data portability pursuant to Article 20 of the GDPR. If you exercise your right to object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can provide evidence of compelling legitimate interests in favor of processing that take precedence over your interests, rights and freedoms or if processing is necessary to assert, exercise or defend a legal claim.
