Die EU-Staaten haben ein Ölembargo beschlossen. Aus der Perspektive von Edgar Walk, Chefvolkswirt Metzler Asset Management, ist das jedoch kein Gamechanger. Er befürchtet, dass die Ölpreise weiter steigen könnten. Auch der staatliche Eingriff durch die Spritpreisbremse sei ökonomisch wenig sinnvoll.
Steigende Energiepreise sind einer der Hauptfaktoren für die hohe Inflation. Walk fordert, dass die EZB auf das ernstzunehmende Inflationsproblem umgehend reagiert: „Die EZB müsste am nächsten Donnerstag den Zins um 0,5 Prozent anheben und die Anleihekäufe sofort beenden.“ Droht dann eine neue Eurokrise?
