History
Inevitably, we have always paid more attention to the future than to the past, without reflecting on whether we may have accomplished a good deal.
Let’s take a look back at the more than 340-year history of Metzler Bank and its evolution from a cloth merchant to a private bank with its own distinctive profile. Who were the people who shaped the bank? What are the milestones from 1674 to the present day?
Throughout its long history, Metzler Bank has always appointed partners from outside the family to the management. That has enabled us to steadily extend the bank's expertise. When appointing partners, Metzler is open to new impetus from outside the bank, but also values the experience and expertise of long-standing employees. Today, six partners are responsible for the bank. All of them are directly involved in the day-to-day business.
The Metzler Foundation focuses on projects for children and young people. For a number of years now, its work has concentrated on the holistic development of children.
